Cold mornings, check. Historic architecture, check. French pastries and Italian pasta, check.
What’s missing? The crowds…
The offseason is the best time to visit Europe and pretend it is your own private playground. Whilst the famous cities of London and Paris never really loose the crowds, here are a few trade-offs I am sure you will fall in love that are (nearly) free from selfie stick attacks and queues long enough to be a flight time during the offseason.
Spain will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the destination of my first international trip, and where I studied Spanish abroad and started to discover how much excitement the world had to offer.
My favorite part of that first trip was being able to explore smaller cities and towns in Spain that I wouldn’t have known about prior, and that are somewhat off the tourist path. I spent a month in Spain that summer, living in Salamanca and El Puerto de Santa Maria, and exploring the surrounding regions.
The United Kingdom has a whole heap of gorgeous towns, sleepy little villages and vibrant cities to explore! Yeah, I know I’m biased (being a Brit myself) but there’s so much to see across our beautiful islands. From sunny spots in the south of England to ancient villages that have stood for over a thousand years, there are an incredible plethora of spots to explore.
Thanks to having the coolest job ever, I’ve been to four sex-themed resorts and a relationship retreat. I went to two of them on my own and three of them with my partner, and I had different experiences with each. But I will tell you one thing about them all: They were an adventure.
